Outreach here in Elim Church International is that of a calling to serve the World by sharing the good news of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Evangelism is, “bringing the good news into the strata of humanity,” thus impacting lives from within and transforming them. The basis of our core belief is that we are to share the Gospel with others. This is the driving force of our church and it is important to our vision.
As a church, we bring the message of hope, acknowledging that it can be understood and accepted by people in society. As such, our members participate in purposeful evangelism, delivering leaflets to homes in the communities within which our churches exist. We also participate in cold evangelism where we share the message of God with people we meet in both Stevenage and Luton Town Centres.
We are cognizant that there is no instant evangelism, because of this; we are consistent and persistent in our efforts to share Jesus Christ in our communities. Every Saturday, different groups in the church join with the main evangelism department and embark on bringing the good news to our communities. We consider also the urgency needed to share the gospel. Matthew 3:2 records, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Because of this, we realise our part in alerting members of the society of the importance of coming to the full realization of the need for salvation and more so reaching that point where they accept and maintain Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord” [Luke 4:18-19 (KJV)].
